# Cleveland Business Journal: Jeff Charney, retired CMO for Progressive Corp., named UnifyWork director

UnifyWork, a Cleveland startup that matches job seekers with jobs, has named [Jeff Charney](https://www.bizjournals.com/cleveland/search/results?q=Jeff%20Charney) as a director.

Charney is an [award-winning marketing professional](https://www.bizjournals.com/cleveland/news/2021/06/07/ad-age-awards-progressives-cmo-its-top-brand-award.html) who retired early this year as Progressive Corp.'s (NYSE: PGR) chief marketing officer and then [launched an invitation-only marketing industry collective](https://www.bizjournals.com/cleveland/news/2022/03/30/retired-cmo-launches-marketing-company.html) MKHSTRY ("Make History" without its vowels).

"Matching the right people with the right job is so vital to the nation's success and is an important cause for me personally," Charney said in a statement. "UnifyWork is exactly the type of company poised to transform this critical but somewhat slow-moving industry."
