About Graici
Graici is a technology startup bringing Agentic Engagement Technology to market. Agentic Engagement Technology is an AI-native, multichannel communication platform provided to healthcare providers, health insurance plans, educational institutions, and government to achieve greater engagement and outcomes with the people they serve. Our technology delivers our purpose of powering inclusive prosperity by empowering data agency for individual users that allows them to access resources and support to meet their holistic needs on the path to prosperity and thriving. We’re an AWS-focused company building secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure to support our fast-growing products. As a lean team, we value engineers who are eager to take ownership, learn quickly, and contribute meaningfully from day one.

About the Role
We're hiring a backend engineer to help build and scale the core of the Graici platform. This role is critical to standing up reliable data flows, structured workflow logic, and secure integrations across healthcare and financial systems.

You’ll work closely with our frontend and platform leads to own server-side functionality, drive ingestion and transformation pipelines, and support a deterministic architecture designed for transparency and trust. We’re looking for someone who’s technically strong, execution-minded, and comfortable operating with autonomy inside a small, focused team.

Key Responsibilities
● Design and implement secure, scalable backend systems using Python and/or Node.
● Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines for healthcare (FHIR) and financial data (e.g., Plaid).
● Normalize and transform data into composable “data profile” abstractions.
● Building deterministic flow execution via custom rules engine and DSL interpreter.
● Design and expose internal and external APIs with clean contracts and strong typing.
● Collaborate with the team on schema design, integration testing, and rollout planning.
● Implement observability (metrics, logs, tracing) across services.
● Ensure auditability, reversibility, and schema versioning across the platform.
● Ship, test, monitor, and improve iteratively. Done is better than perfect.

Job Requirements
● 5+ years of backend experience building production-grade systems.
● Strong proficiency in Python (FastAPI or Django preferred) and/or Node.js.
● Experience with PostgreSQL and data modeling in trust-sensitive domains.
● Experience with ETL pipelines, event-driven architecture, or tools like Airflow, Step Functions, or custom DAGs.
● Comfort with containerized infrastructure (Docker, ECS/Kubernetes).
● Pragmatic approach to security, especially around PHI/PII handling and consented data flows.
● Clear communication, independent drive, and ability to move without hand-holding.
● Bonus: familiarity with healthcare data standards (FHIR), JSON-schema validation, or custom DSL engines.

Culture & Work Environment
Graici is a fully virtual organization whose core values are accountability, innovation, respect, and empowerment. Hallmarks of Graici’s culture include collaboration, learning, and well-being to deliver positive outcomes for the organization and its users.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to help lead Graici’s platform rebuild. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in early-stage environments and takes pride in delivering clean, maintainable systems that actually ship. You’ll be working closely with our lead frontend engineer and engineering leadership to implement key platform functionality, build robust data pipelines, and support rules-driven workflows that help underserved populations access critical resources.

We’re not cracking the atom - but we are building a high-integrity, high-trust data product with ambitious goals. We're looking for someone who can own their lane, think critically, and contribute meaningfully from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain fullstack features across the Graici application, with a particular focus on:

○ Server-side logic, APIs, and persistence layers

○ Ingestion pipelines (e.g., FHIR, Plaid)

○ Rules-based flow scaffolding and execution

  • Collaborate with frontend engineers to ensure a cohesive user experience
  • Contribute to data modeling and schema normalization across the wallet abstraction ● Integrate external data sources via structured, auditable pipelines
  • Write reliable, testable code and support CI/CD workflows
  • Participate in architectural and infrastructure discussions
  • Operate with a delivery mindset: unblock, simplify, and ship

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years experience as a fullstack engineer, ideally in startup or lean team environments
  • Strong command of backend development using Python (FastAPI), Node, or similar modern frameworks
  • Experience building client-side features with React or Angular (HTMX or Tailwind are a plus)
  • Comfort working across the stack: databases, APIs, background jobs, and frontend logic
  • Prior experience with data ingestion pipelines or ETL/ELT workflows (Airflow, Step Functions, or similar)
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL, particularly in structured, auditable systems ● Exposure to MongoDB is a plus
  • Thoughtful and pragmatic coding style, favoring clarity, testability, and maintainability
  • Ability to operate independently without drama; clear communicator, low ego, high output
  • Experience working in regulated or trust-sensitive domains (healthcare, finance, etc.) is a bonus
